Visa Regulations and Requirements
A visa is required for entry by all visitors travelling to Kenya, with the exception of those who fall under the following categories:
Categories of persons who do NOT require visas:
- Persons whose passport is endorsed with a valid Kenyan re-entry pass, or any other written authority in lieu of a re-entry pass.
- Ship's passengers arriving and departing by the same ship, and who do not leave the ship.
- Aircraft passengers transiting through Kenya, and who do not leave the international transit area of Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (Nairobi) or Moi International Airport (Mombasa).
- 4. Holders of a laissez-passer issued by one of the organizations listed here below (a-h), while on official business for the organization in question, and upon presentation of an official document from this organization:
- European Union
- United Nations
- African Union
- African Development Bank
- Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa
- International Red Locust Control Organization for Central & Southern Africa
- Desert Locust Control Organization
- Comesa
- Manifested crew of aircraft and ships passing through or stopping in Kenya, for periods not exceeding seven (7) days in the case of aircrew, and fourteen (14) days for shipâ€s crew.
- Owners of private aircraft stopping over for refuelling in Kenya, and who do not leave the precincts of the airport.
A. Citizens of countries whose nationals do NOT require visas.
B. Countries whose nationals do NOT require visas if they stay in Kenya for MAXIMUM ONE MONTH:
C. Countries whose nationals receive GRATIS visas

- Australia (Only applicable to holders of Australian official, service and diplomatic passports travelling on official business.)
- Malaysia
- New Zealand
- South Africa
C. Countries whose nationals receive GRATIS visas
1. All nationals: (under EAC ratification)
2. Only holders of official, service and diplomatic passports travelling on official business:
